Contrary to Popular Belief, Christ did NOT 'kick it wit sinners'

...Continued:

YOU SAID: “Jesus didn't hang with the Pharisee and Sadducee; He hung with sinners and was talked about for doing it. Matthew 11:18&1918For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.' 19The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." ‘But wisdom is proved right by her actions. I am in no way comparing Bishop Staples with Jesus, but we are to live as He did—to look like Him when the Father looks down at us, and one of the things that He did was kicking it with sinners in an attempt to win them over to God.”

I am glad that you are not comparing Glen Staples to Jesus, because Glen Staples is not living like Jesus did.

First of all, let’s break down this account where Christ ate with sinners, because many ppl take it out of context to justify preachers who bring the world into the church. If you read the Gospel accounts, you will see that Christ walked up to Levi/Matthew (who worked at a tax collector booth) while he was working, and Christ told Levi/Matthew “follow Me”…and Levi/Matthew “left ALL & followed Jesus.” That same evening, Levi/Matthew invited Jesus to his house for dinner. Why? Because Levi/Matthew wanted his sinner friends to be ministered to by Jesus as well! He wanted His friends to hear Jesus preach the Gospel and perhaps be saved…this was wonderful! So Christ went to Levi/Matthew’s house for dinner, and He was sitting and ministering to Levi/Matthew and his sinner friends. Some Pharisees and scribes were there as well, and they said to Christ’s disciples “why does your Master eat with sinners?” Then Christ said “Those who are well do not need a doctor, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.” Christ was being sarcastic with the Pharisees and scribes, because they were not WELL and they were NOT righteous LOL They were spiritually sick, blind, and depraved. Yet they looked down on the sinners who Christ was ministering to, when in fact, the Pharisees needed Jesus just as badly. They were just as sinful, as a matter of fact…they were worse! Because they claimed to be religious authorities (like many in leadership today) and experts on God’s law, when they didn’t even understand it or obey it. One thing that we must notice in this account where Christ ate dinner at Levi/Matthew’s house, is that a DISCIPLE/SHEEP of Christ (Levi/Matthew) invited Christ to eat a meal at his house to PREACH THE GOSPEL to his sinner friends. What Levi/Matthew did NOT do was invite THE PHARISEES to his house to PREACH and call it a “holy” convocation! That is what Glen Staples is doing! Staples is inviting FALSE teachers to speak at TOP (Cornell West and Steve Harvey). What Christ did NOT do at this dinner was tell the Pharisees or one of the sinners to get up and start preaching/speaking, and call it a “holy” convocation! Nor did Christ or Levi/Matthew charge ANYONE an entry fee to eat dinner & hear Jesus preach! (Hello??) Yet Glen Staples is charging folks money to attend a special breakfast before the convocation, and then many ppl will be paying to attend the convocation as well. Sorry! But Levi/Matthew nor Jesus did any such thing in the very account you attempted to use to justify Glen Staples.

YOU SAID: “Paul said that he became all things to all people for the purposes of God. 1Corinthians 9:19-23 19Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. 22To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 23I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.”

You are using another Scripture out of context. Paul did not EVER invite the lost into fellowship with the saints, and then give the lost a platform to speak/preach error out of their depraved mind and heart. Paul literally went into the PUBLIC SQUARE and preached the Gospel to the lost. Only those who repented, believed the Gospel, and were born again were welcomed into fellowship with the saints. I am baffled that you would try to use that text to justify what Glen Staples is doing. Paul’s letters rebuke, speak against, and expose the wickedness of Glen Staples, TOP, Cornell West, and Steve Harvey.
